A Front Door for City Hall

Share Your Idea

One simple place to send an idea, a question, or a concern about South St. Paul, sorted by topic and routed to the people who can act on it. This page is a concept preview: the form below is a working demo of how it would feel, and nothing you type is sent or saved anywhere.

Emergencies are not handled here. If anyone is in danger, or you need police, fire, or an ambulance right now, call 911. For non-emergency police help, call the South St. Paul Police Department at 651-554-3300.
Concept demo · submissions are not transmitted or stored

Demo only: pressing the button shows you the acknowledgment a resident would see. No information leaves this page, and nothing is stored. The full concept, including how the Mayor's office would review and reply, is described in the panel on this page and on the Command Center.

Thank you. Here's how your message would be handled:

In the full version, a person in the Mayor's office reviews every message before anything official is sent back. An AI assistant may draft a first reply from the city's verified service information, but a human always approves it first. That drafting step is a Phase 2 idea, not something running today.

How it would work

  1. You send it. One form for ideas, questions, and concerns, with a topic so it lands in the right lane from the start.
  2. It is sorted instantly. The acknowledgment you see in the demo is the real first step: your message is categorized by type and topic, and you are told exactly where it is headed.
  3. It queues on the Mayor's Command Center. Submissions would appear in the Constituent Issues queue on the mayor's dashboard, grouped by lane: streets, public safety, parks, city services, events.
  4. A human answers. Staff in the Mayor's office review and respond. In Phase 2, an AI assistant could draft first replies from verified city service content to speed that up, with a human reviewing before anything is sent. Phase 2 is not live.
  5. Emergencies never wait in a queue. Anything that reads like an emergency gets one answer, immediately: call 911. It is never filed as a routine message.

Need the city today?

This concept is not a city service yet. Right now, the fastest paths are the real ones: call City Hall at 651-554-3200, or use the resident services on the hub, which all link to official city channels.
