Jimmy's Hub
One desk for the whole city: today's board, council prep, your updates, the budget at a glance, the resident queue, the projects, the grants, and your network. This is the Phase 1 preview of the workspace described in the Mayor's Hub plan.
Preview. Changes save on this device. Sign-in arrives with the Business Hub OS build.
The daily rhythm this board is built for: a 5 minute glance in the morning, a 30 minute review once a week, and a public snapshot once a month. Open items from the last review belong at the top here in the full build.
Meetings Verified schedule
The council's regular rhythm and the meetings already on the public record. Agendas and minutes live in the city's Agenda Center; this module is the prep view, and your notes here stay on this device.
Meeting requests Mock
In the full build, requests from the public hub arrive here to accept, decline, or counterpropose. In this preview the request form is a labeled mock: it saves nothing and sends nothing.
Mayor's Updates Device-local Publishing goes live in Phase 2
Write an update once, preview it exactly as residents would see it in the Mayor's Corner and as an Around Town post, and save it on this device. Publishing is not live in this preview: in the full build, publishing here is what puts it on the public hub. One sample draft is preloaded so you can see the voice.

Budget & Finance Verified
The 2026 numbers at a glance, every figure labeled with its source: the City of South St. Paul 2026 Final Budget and Financial Plan. The documents themselves are public records on the city website; this module links to them rather than copying pages that go stale.
Budget documents (official, on the city website)
2026 Final Budget and Financial Plan (full budget book) → Preliminary 2026 Budget → 2024 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) → Budget and finance pages: start at the city website →Key dates
Council meets the first and third Mondays at 7:00 p.m. Budget and levy items move through those meetings in the fall; confirm each item in the Agenda Center.
Your private notes on the budget belong in the full build's notes field, kept separate from these public figures by design.
Idea & Concern Queue Sample data
The 311-style queue the Share Your Idea front door would feed, sorted by lane. Every item below is a labeled sample. Change a status and it saves on this device. Emergencies are never queued here: they get one answer, call 911.
In the full build, an AI assistant drafts a first reply for each item from the city's verified service information, and a person in the Mayor's office approves it before anything is sent. Drafting is not live in this preview; the first sample item above carries a mock draft so the shape is visible.
Projects Tracker Verified list Statuses device-local
The city's published 2026 capital work. Edit a status or the public summary and watch the public preview update. The public summary is the only text that can ever appear on the public Projects page. The internal note field is separate by design: internal only, never published, in this preview or the full build.
Public Safety Desk Official links
The people who publish the real numbers, plus the resident programs already running. Briefing notes and statistics stay with the departments; this desk links out so what you read is official and in context.
Starter project shells Working list
- Community Connect signups: grow the households sharing details with South Metro Fire first responders.
- Sound the Alarm: smoke alarm installation visits with the American Red Cross.
- Heart Restart: bystander CPR training for residents.
- Car seat inspections: the police department's monthly checks, promoted on the public hub.
- Siren awareness: the city's five outdoor warning sirens and what each signal means.
Grants Desk Starter list
Funding categories that map to South St. Paul's capital plan. Starter list only: verify every deadline and eligibility rule at the source before acting. In the full build, deadlines inside 60 days surface on the Today Board.
| Streets & water infrastructure Federal and state infrastructure programs fit Marie Ave, Verderosa, and the lead line program. | Grants.gov → |
| Fire & public safety FEMA fire service and preparedness grants: staffing, equipment, prevention. | FEMA Grants → |
| Parks, trails & trees State natural-resources and outdoor recreation grants fit the aquatic facility, park renewals, and Regrowing Shade. | Grants.gov → |
Network Verified tiers
51 regional connections on the roster. The full profiles live in the Jimmy Francis Drive pack, one folder per connection, ready for your review at the reveal. Contact details and relationship notes stay private, permanently; the public hub only ever shows these organization tiers.
Events & Packers Verified
The merged city and school calendar, one lens for what is happening and what you are attending. Attendance planning and your personal calendar sync arrive in the full build.
Links & Documents Library Verified links
One shelf for every system, portal, and document set, so "where is that thing" stops being a question.

Coming in the Full Build Phase 2 and 3
- Real sign-in and roles: your account, plus a staff seat that can work the queue without seeing private network notes.
- Live flows: Share Your Idea submissions landing in the queue, project summaries publishing to the public hub, updates publishing live, calendar sync.
- The AI assistant, wired: brief assembly, queue reply drafts, and action items from your notes. It drafts; you decide. A human approves everything outgoing.
- Coin Fundraiser Admin (Phase 3): inventory, orders, and the proceeds ledger, once the payment path and beneficiary projects are chosen.
